And the award for Best Hotel Restaurant goes to…

Gold Travel Awards Judge Cheryl Chan visits Venice to present the Best Hotel Restaurant Award to The Gritti Palace.

“It was an honour to present the manager Christian with the award. Our UK tourists deemed this restaurant worthy of the award and having visited and tasted the food myself, I too have to agree. If you get a chance to visit, you must try the tantalising Spaghetti Vongole, the views from the restaurant mirror a postcard and the service is friendly and welcoming” says judging panelist Cheryl.

Cheryl is the Editor-in-chief for The Gold Travel Awards who this month also awarded ‘Hotel of the Year’ to Alcudia Port Suites and ‘Best Hotel for Families’ to Blu Raddison Gran Canaria Mogan. Cheryl was a finalist at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and is listed as the North West’s Top 32 Tech Leaders holding over 10 years of experience in journalism with ties to the British Fashion Council.

“Finding the right hotel that meets your expectation, be it a kids club or high cleaning standards can be hit and miss, I am pleased that these awards are able to shine a light on the hotels that have been a hit with British tourists to help prospective visitors book the hotels that won’t disappoint them” says the travel editor.

This year the Gold Travel Awards website has received over 6000 entries across 15 award categories.

“The judging is the most challenging part but we as a panelist made up of 5 judges from veteran travel contributors from Lonely Planet to Metro. We have debated over who should win what on many occasions and at times disagreed with one another but ultimately the voters decide and 100% of the time the British tourists are right”
